Did I like Everlane’s Stretch Denim?

I have a love-hate relationship with stretch denim. A good pair lifts and tucks all the right places, but a poorly-made pair sags like no tomorrow and I might as well wear sweatpants. To be honest I was quite surprised when I found out Everlane is making stretch denim. In my mind, Everlane’s denim has this clean and vintage vibe that’s different from stretchy jeans.

The pair I’ve got here is the dark wash, high-rise and skinny ankle jeans. They run true to size (consistent with other Everlane jeans) – mine is size 25. I received my jeans about a week and a half ago and I’ve worn it 5 times already. Most importantly, the pockets are real!

You can view the collection here.

Now, the big questions. Do they stretch out as I wear them? Does it sag? Does it hold its shape over time?

Do they stretch out as I wear them?

The denim has only 1% elastane so it is not too stretchy compared to other jeans on the market. They stretch about half a size bigger so if you are in between size I recommend size down.

Does it sag?

I am happy to report that the denim doesn’t sag!

Does it hold its shape over time?

I’ve had the jeans for about a week and a half, and so far it is holding its shape well. The jeans are still working the magic to lift my butt and tuck my thighs, which I am forever grateful. I am inclined to say that the denim will hold its shape over time.

Compared to Everlane none-stretch denim?

I’d say if you are petite like myself, stretch denim looks better on you. I’ve tried on a few pairs of non-stretch Everlane denim and they seem to be designed for taller ladies (5’5″ and up).  The stretch denim moulds to my body over time and it’s more comfortable. However, if you are looking for raw denim with vintage vibes (think mom jeans), go with none-stretch.

Sizes?

They run true to size as other Everlane denim. I am usually a size 25 and I got a size 25.

Do they ship to Canada?

Everlane ships to Canada! Duties are calculated at check out.

How many colors does it come in?

This style comes in 4 colors – Mid Blue, Dark Blue Wash, Washed Black, Black. They also have these in ankle length for petite girls! I might get myself a pair of the cigarette jeans, love how chic they are!

Mens?

Yes! Everlane released a couple styles of stretch denim for men.

Anything I don’t like about the stretch denim?

The color. Upon looking at the photos and the description of “dark wash”, I was expecting a darker shade of blue which could potentially be a substitute for black jeans. I wish the stretch denim (or all Everlane denim for that matter) would come in a Levis mid wash shade, like this pair.
