Transitional Pieces that are Staple and Fun

It’s September guys! 246 days have already gone by this year and we are officially saying good bye to summer vacations. I love transitional pieces that carry us into fall. Good transitional pieces serve as the foundation of your fall AND winter – these are the pieces that you can easily build on for the next 4-5 months.

Baukjen always gots mah back when it comes to staple and fun pieces; high quality too! I’ve got two outfits to share today. Read on!

This white cutout long sleeve top is such a fun yet staple item. Not to mention right on trend. One of the biggest trends this season is cutouts – taking cold shoulder to the next level. Cold shoulder trend wasn’t totally my thing, but this cutout trend? SO much better. I mean, you can actually wear a bra underneath! Yaass please! 🙂

I’ve paired it with a pleated skirt to add a touch of feminine, and a pair of slides to tone down the feminine-ness (contradicting much?). I am trying to wear these slides as much as possible before the rain rolls into vancity.

This next outfit features one of my undying loves, STRIPES! Raise your hands if you also love stripes. Although stripes are such an easy breezy piece to style, it is not easy to find one that has just the right weight, thickness and shape. Baukjen’s stripe top checks all these boxes. The thickness is just right; it has some weight to it so it doesn’t fly around. It is also slightly oversized so there is some room at the tummy for those inevitable food babies.

These tops are on the longer side which makes them tall-girl friendly. Being vertically challenged, i.e. short, the length doesn’t bother me. As you can see, I simple tuck them in and use a belt to accentuate my waist. Because they are long, I can wear them with leggings in fall too. Who doesn’t love double duty tops!?

oh and in case you are wondering, I shot these outfits on two different days, during which I had my hair colored. That’s why they look different.
