Casper’s Answer to Back Pain

Johnny and I have been decorating our new place and we began with our master bedroom. After all, it’s our sanctuary. We immediately turned to Casper for a comfortable mattress as the center of our cozy and relaxing space.

If you recall, I wrote a post last year on The Casper mattress. We still love The Casper dearly, however, some things have changed in the last 12 months and this time around, we are looking for a more supportive mattress. Johnny was involved in a car accident earlier this year. His back had never been the same – he has constant back pain that doesn’t really go away. Thought The Casper is a great mattress that gives zoned support and increased airflow, it is slightly too soft for Johnny. With his back pain, we need a more supportive mattress.

Then we found The Wave.

The Wave is Casper’s other mattress that provides more ergonomic support. The key difference is that The Wave has five layers of different foams that are designed to support different parts of our bodies. In comparison, The Casper has four layers of foam. So how does The Wave stand up to our expectations to manage Johnny’s chronic back pain?

Here is what he thinks:

Picking a suitable bed has been a challenge due to my back condition which is a combination of past injury as well as years of working in an office with poor posture. Everyone defines “suitable” differently and what I look for is a bed that is comfortable with an emphasis on hip and back support.

The Wave has worked out really well for me personally. I was doubtful at first, because mattresses are usually either firm or soft, rarely an in-between. The Wave has performed as advertised, a blend of comfort and support and it is very different from the traditional mattresses out there in the market. I am both a side and back sleeper. Regardless of my sleeping position, the bed is soft and comfortable on the surface and I don’t feel that I am “sinking” into the bed.  This was my biggest concern with soft mattresses but this is not a concern for The Wave. The mattress supports my back and hip area well and this allows my back muscle rest throughout the night.

For those of you who have sensitive back, The Wave is worth the investment and I strongly suggest to give this great mattress a try. A good night sleep is worth every penny that you put into this innovative product.

For me, The Wave’s additional support gives a better sleep than a traditional spring mattress. I could feel the gel in the middle the mattress (where our back lies) – this makes a huge difference.

So which Casper mattress should you go for?

I am only discussing The Casper and The Wave as I’ve never tried The essential. The Casper is much softer than The Wave. If you like a softer mattress, go with The Casper. If you need the extra support, go with The Wave. There is a bit of adjusting period for me with The Wave in the beginning as I wasn’t quite used to the support it gives. After getting used to the mattress, I couldn’t be happier with it!

ALSO, CAN WE TALK ABOUT THE PILLOWS!? Casper makes such comfortable pillows. I’ve been loving mine since last year. These pillows are some of the best pillows on the market at a reasonable price (look out for the occasional promo on pillows from Casper). The pillows are soft, yet firm. Yes, there is such a thing as soft and firm at the same time. I am a side sleeper so I need pillows that can support my neck but at the same time soft to fall asleep. The best thing about Casper’s pillows is that IT HOLDS ITS SHAPE OVER TIME. We’ve had ours for more than a year now and they are still in excellent shape. If you are looking for new pillows, go for Casper!!

I wanted to share the good night sleep so I asked Casper for a promo code for you guys! Use code “hintofgrey” for cad $65 off on The Casper or The Wave until Sep 30 2019.

This post was produced in collaboration with Casper and I received the products in exchange for producing this content. As always all opinions are my own.
