JW Marriott Vancouver Review

On the other side of Parq Vancouver lies JW Marriott Vancouver. Johnny and I love our city staycation so we were invited to hit up the new hotel. I previously blogged about The Douglas, which is the other hotel in the same complex. Yup, it’s a massive building.

We stayed in the waterfront room with a king size bed. Both Johnny and I thoroughly enjoyed the stay. We were not disappointed one bit. The room was bright and clean. The bathroom, OH the bathroom, is such goals – made with all marble, floor to ceiling. It’s like showering in heaven. Read on for my reviews at the JW Marriott Vancouver:

What I love:

  1. THE VIEW: Because the property is facing False Creek, most of the rooms have some views of the waterfront and Science World. The waterfront view is simply magnificent and such a stunner. At night, I’d turn off the lights in the room and enjoy the illuminated Science World in the distance. It’s such a relaxing view to go to sleep and wake up to. I absolutely loved watching sea buses cruising on False Creek. Ah, I also woke up super early and caught the sunrise. Don’t ask me why I woke up early – I am a morning person haha.
  2. Room size: the rooms are slightly bigger than regular hotel rooms. That is a bonus in my book. There was a lot of room to open items of luggage, to put things and to just appreciate the space.
  3. Shower: I can’t get enough of the showers at JW Marriott. With rain shower and Molton Brown products, the whole showering experience feels like I was at a spa. Scroll down to see the marble in the bathroom!
  4. The room features an Illy capsule coffee machine so for those who NEEDS coffee in the morning like me, you can get freshly brewed coffee right in your room every morning.

What I didn’t love:

  1. Wifi and parking: Like The Douglas, JW Marriott Vancouver charges a fee for wifi. Also, they charge quite a bit for parking. Customers can get complimentary wifi if they join Marriott’s loyalty program. However, for luxury hotels, I’d expect wifi fees are worked into the room rates. Paying extra for something as basic as wifi just doesn’t feel right.

Overall our experience at JW Marriott Vancouver was awesome. The staff treated us as if we were family and I felt like right at home. There is also the huge spa onsite if you are looking for some quality me time. I had the chance to visit the spa facilities and I CAN’T WAIT to visit again and relax at the spa lounge. Alright, that’s enough of my mumbling. Scroll down for photos!

Oh! The photo of the bed below – I made that bed. It doesn’t look as meticulous as it should be because it wasn’t made by the hotel staff. I couldn’t wait to take a photo of it when we checked in.
